SB 3129  RELATING TO HAWAIIAN HEALING PRACTICES.                    CPN
        Extends sunset date from July 1, 2000, to July 1, 2002, for
        allowing traditional Hawaiian healing practices by traditional
        native Hawaiian healers. (KAWAMOTO)

SB 2804  RELATING TO ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSES            CPN
        RECOGNITION.
        Requires applicants for advanced practice registered nurse (APRN)
        recognition to have an unencumbered APRN recognition or similar
        designation in all other states in which the nurse has a current
        and active recognition as an APRN.  (MIZUGUCHI (BR))

SB 2805  RELATING TO THE DUTIES OF THE BOARD OF NURSING.            CPN
        Enables the Board to: consult and confer with persons with
        expertise on various issues; communicate with national
        organizations with information that would promote consumer safety
        and welfare; administer the nursing exams; contract with a
        professional test vendor; and develop rules relating to
        telehealth.  (MIZUGUCHI (BR))

SB 2589  RELATING TO INDEPENDENT MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS.              CPN
        Amends medical examination laws regarding independent medical
        examinations by requiring employer requested medical examinations
        to be done by a State-licensed experienced physician of the same
        specialty as the treating physician. (KANNO)

SB 2225  RELATING TO PERSONAL PROPERTY APPRAISERS.                  CPN
        Requires that persons performing personal property appraisals in
        a probate proceeding have specific accreditation or
        certification. (TAM)

 


 
SB 2165  RELATING TO NATUROPATHIC PHYSICIANS.                       CPN
        Creates definition of "licensed physician" so as to include
        naturopathic physicians for purposes of department of education
        immunization and tuberculin examinations.  (LEVIN / CHUN OAKLAND)

SB 3041  RELATING TO OPTOMETRY.                                     CPN
        Repeals the joint formulary advisory committee and removes
        reference to "topically applied" pharmaceutical agents.

neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing,
please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time
of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.
